Course Recognition

paper

A major hurdle in facilitating the exchange process is making sure the credits you receive abroad transfer to your home university. As part of our student services, the International Office provides you with easy access to some valuable course transfer information. To help give exchange students an idea about where courses might be transferable into Humboldt's listing, the following list offers the syllabi for many of our most popular and well attended general courses.

Course Transfer Limit

IMPORTANT:
Students looking to obtain a degree from Humboldt-Universität are required to take at least half of their course credit at HU. You may therefore transfer in a maximum number of course credit defined by the following formula: (Total ECTS for Degree - ECTS for Thesis)/2.
i.e.:
  1. Master in Economics and Management Science (MEMS) / Master in VWL:
(120 ECTS - 18 ECTS for Thesis)/2 = Max 51 ECTS that can be transfered in
  2. Master in BWL:
(120 ECTS - 30 ECTS for Thesis)/2 = Max 45 ECTS that can be transfered in

Please note that these documents are in no way binding. They should simply serve as a guide to how an outside course equates to our curriculum.

Press release from the HRK-Newsflash (Oct. 2010):

Good Practice Beispiel Bologna: Humboldt-Universität Berlin
