Description
This seminar explores Germany’s position in the European Economy from the foundation of the Kaiserreich in 1871 until today. The focus will be on the options, constraints and choices of German economic policy within the European Economy and how they changed over time. Topics include Germany in the Classical Gold Standard, German Foreign Trade in the long-run, German Foreign Investment in Europe, European Integration and German Economic Growth, German Fiscal Policy in the European Mirror, Germany’s Currency after 1945: from DM to Euro.
