Scholarship holders from Erasmus Mundus, DAAD and other organizations: If you've been granted a scholarship to study at HU from organizations such as Erasmus Mundus, DAAD or others, please note that you need to apply seperately through the below mentioned channels for our degree programs! Erasmus Mundus and DAAD offer financial support - you will need to apply for admission at HU seperately! Please note the deadlines and requirements. We strongly advise to start the application process at HU in time - independent of the scholarship!

Bachelor of Science in Economics and in Business Studies

To apply for a Bachelor’s program at the School of Business and Economics you will need to provide your university entrance qualification, e.g. a certified copy of your high school diploma. Please check the Zulassungsbedingungen if you are elibable to one of the programs. To check if you have the mathematical background to study here, do the self test: www.wiwi.hu-berlin.de/studium/mathetest/

Note that the big majority of courses at the Bachelor level are taught in German. A good command of the language is thus essential to be a successful Bachelor student here. That’s why you will need to prove your German language skills via a DSH certificate (C1) or a TestDaF upon successful application to the program. Please find more information about the entrance requirements here:

Interantional applicants (including applicants of the the EU) for degree courses have to apply generally by an online platform called Uni-ASSIST. Please see www.international.hu-berlin.de/en/studierende/aus-dem-ausland/studium-mit-abschluss for further information! Follwoing documents are especially helpful:

Master of Science in Economics, in Business Studies, in Statistics and in Information Systems

You can apply for these Master programs as long as you have a Bachelor degree which included at least 24 ECTS points in quantitative fields such as math, statistics, and econometrics (for Business: also microeconomics). For the Master in Business Studies you will also need to have taken at least 120 ECTS points in classes related to the fields of Business or Economics during your Bachelor studies.

Almost all courses of the Master programs offered at the School of Business and Economics are taught in English. You will thus need to provide a certificate at C1 level in the CEFR framework with your application. Nevertheless, a solid command of German (B1 level) is also required and an applicable certificate needs to be submitted. Additionally, a GRE or GMAT test score may be submitted but is not mandatory for a successful application.

New students will only be admitted for the winter term. Thus, application is possible only once a year from May 1 to May 31. More information on the specific structure of the programs can be found here:
