Proposed topics for the Thesis
In order to write a thesis (master or bachelor) you have to make an appointment for office hours and hand in (by post or e-mail):
• a transcript about your courses and seminars (Agnes).
• a draft proposal of the topic of the thesis (half page). You may suggest several alternatives.
Based on your proposal we will discuss the project during office hours.
In line with current teaching at the chair, I propose some topics from the design and regulation of network based energy systems and energy policy in general. But students can suggest own topics for their thesis.
Once accepted, you will be signed up for the thesis seminar which provides the framework for the supervision of your work. You have to make three presentations in the seminar:
• In the first, at the beginning of the term, you will outline your project: motivation, what kind of results do you want to obtain, the methodological approach, etc. Only then you will register for the thesis by filling out the form of the examination office.
• After about half of the time, you will give a second presentation reporting preliminary results, open problems, changes in your approach, etc.
• The final presentation is about two weeks before the deadline for handing in the thesis. You will report progress and new problems and we will discuss last minute changes.
