"Financial Intermediaries and Liquidity Dry-Ups”

Professor Max Bruche will present his research interests, with reference to some of his past and ongoing research projects. Questions will include: How do financial markets and financial intermediaries provide liquidity to our economy? What could obstruct the flow of liquidity? Should regulators and governments respond, and if so, how?

Max Bruche is Professor of Finance at the School of Business and Economics, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. He has previously worked at the Centro de Estudios Monetarios y Financieros (CEMFI) in Madrid, Cass Business School in London, and has held visiting positions at Lehman Brothers, the European Central Bank, and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Professor Bruche's research interests include corporate debt markets, corporate finance, and financial intermediation.
