Sonja Greven granted the Princess Therese of Bavaria Award 2019
In 1997, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the presentation of an honorary doctorate to the Wittelsbach researcher Princess Therese of Bavaria the "Princess Therese of Bavaria Foundation for the Advancement of Women in Science at the LMU" was founded at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Among other things, the foundation pursues the goal of honouring outstanding female scientists from individual faculties with a special prize at regular intervals in order to support their motivation to follow a university career.
In 2019, six female natural scientists are awarded with the Princess Therese of Bavaria Prize endowed with 10,000 Euros for each honoured scientist. Sonja Greven, Professor of Statistics at our School, is one of the six scientists who are honoured for their outstanding scientific performance (especially in trans-disciplinary research projects) as well as for their academic careers setting examples for young female scientists.
