Short-Bio

Christopher Gerling received his master's degree in 2021 at the Chair of Information Systems at Humboldt University of Berlin and works as a professional data scientist in banking.
Christopher Gerling's business experience, combined with his technical knowledge, has allowed him to specialize in areas like customer analytics, machine learning applications in banking, and big data frameworks.
In 2022, he started as a PhD candidate with a current research focus on unstructured data analytics and natural language processing (NLP) in banking. His previous research includes projects such as company representation learning (Company2Vec). With a strong foundation in both industry and academia, he continues to drive the development of data-driven solutions in the field of information systems.

 

Research Interests

Christopher Gerling's research interests lie at the intersection of state-of-the-art data mining techniques and banking applications. These include the implementation of natural language processing (NLP) and multimodal models, the use of artificial intelligence within big data frameworks, and the exploration of unstructured data analytics in banking.
