The event will be held in English. There will be a champagne reception following the panel discussion. Please note that the venue is unfortunately not accessible to people with limited mobility, due to a small set of stairs. Please indicate in advance if you require assistance in regard to mastering the stairs.

The panel will include Prof. Dr. Monika Huesmann (Professor of Organisation, Human Resources and Information Management and head of the IBCON course ‘Human Resource Management’ at the HWR Berlin), Prof. Dr. Jeannette Trenkmann (Professor of General Business Administration and Dean of the Faculty of Business & Management at the BSP Berlin), Lisa Ertl (organisational consultant and partner at Diversity Kartell) and Sandra Subel (Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion Strategy at the Axel Springer AG) on equal opportunities and equality in economics.

The event will be moderated by Chiponda Chimbelu - he is an editor and member of editor-in-chief’s office at Deutsche Welle, in addition to being a consultant at Diversity Kartell.

The panel will focus in particular on the following questions:

  • Which areas of economics still predominantly lack representation, diversity and inclusion?
  • Where is diversity research conducted in economics and in what areas should it be conducted?
  • How can institutions and organisations promote diversity, representation and inclusion?

The panel discussion is part of the pilot project “Equal Opportunities Intersectional” at the School of Business and Economics at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin together with the initiative ‘Women in Economics @ HU’. The event is sponsored by the Wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Gesellschaft an der HU e.V.
