Summer Schools

On this page you will find a selection of summer courses from our partner universities abroad. You need to make sure that the course periods do not overlap with the academic semester at Humboldt.
A successful application through the WiWi International Office does not guarantee admission to the summer programme at the host university. After a successful application through the WiWi International Office, you must also apply at the host university. There you will be asked to submit the proof of nomination, which you will receive from the WiWi International Office as a successful applicant.

Tuition Waiver (at host university)
  • Apply for the tuition waiver with the internatonal office at WIWi
  • Summer Schools usually take place during the first exams period of our summer Semester. Be aware of colliding schedules.
  • Those offers do not include travel costs, housing and personal expenses.
  • After the confirmation for the tuition waiver, you will also need to register at the partner university.

The Undergraduate Summer School at King's College London

 University: King´s College London

Eligibility: Open to undergraduates only (Bachelor), overall grade 2,3 or better (German grading system)

Session 1: Monday 1st - Friday 12th of July

Description: The Undergraduate Summer School teaches a wide range of modules spanning subject areas such as health and science, maths and engineering, law, governance, business management, culture and ancient languages

Application documents:

- You need to have achieved 30 credits min in either (not each of of them) of the following subjects: Business/Economics/Management/Statistics
- Proof of English proficiency at C1 level

Linköping University Summer Academy 2024

University: Linköping University

Location: Linköping, Sweden

Places available: 5

Admission requirements: Open to all students who have completed 60 credits at the time of application.

Application deadline for tuition fee waiver: 31 January, 2024 (In case of high competition for LiU Summer Academy places, eligible students will be chosen by lottery in the LiU University Admissions system)

Course period: July 2024 - Summer 2024 (The exact calendar will be published here on 01st June 2024)

Description/remarks: A total of 8 courses are offered, 6 of which are open to all students. After a successful application through the WiWi International Office, it is recommended to apply for more than one course at the host university. This increases the chances of getting a place. Linköping University offers a package accommodation + bus subscription for 6500 SEK. You can access the course selection via the link above.

HKUST International Summer Exchange Program (update will follow)

University: The Hong-Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST)

Location: Hong-Kong

Eligibility: Open to undergraduates only (Bachelor)

Description: The program is open to exchange partners only, wide range of credit-bearing courses and organize local excursions and activities for students to gain insight into the Asian culture. Students are to be fully vaccinated in order to be admitted into the program.

Singapore Management University Summer School

University: Singapore Management University (SMU)

Location: Singapore

Eligibility: IELTS score of at least 6.5
TOEFL score of at least 577 points (paper-based) or 90 points (internet-based)

Description: The program is a 4-week intensive program focusing on Business, Innovation and Society in Asia, offering a suite of elective and enrichment courses designed to augment students' knowledge and practical skills about Asia in general, through the use of real-life case studies and examples. The usual cost for this program is 5.350 S$ (ca. 3.500 EUR) - if you get nominated by the Humboldt-Universität, you will get it FOR FREE (albeit 380 SGD as applicatio and administrative fees)! The SMU will assist in finding housing, please calculate costs of about 800-1000 S$ (ca. 520-650 EUR) for housing.

The SMU is one of the most renowned universities and their summer schools are very popular among students around the world.

You may take 2 courses out of 8.

Aalto University - Information Technology Program (ITP) (update will follow)

Description: The core of the program is a three-month-long business project where students create solutions for real challenges of ITP partner companies. Students can specialise in one of three tracks, Information and Service Business (ISB), Digital and Intelligent Ecosystems (DIE) or Strategy and Experience Design (SED).
