HU-Tools
The main resources you will need at our university are linked to the so called HU-Account (Humboldt-Universität-Account).
These are: the personal area on AGNES, the HU personalised email address, and the moodle platform. With a HU-Account you will also be able to use computers in the PC-Pool room, to get your campus card (official student ID) and connect to the HU Wi-Fi network.
Where it all starts: the HU-Account
To get a HU-Account you will need a letter with a PIN with which you will be able to activate the account. The letter will be given to you by the central incoming team after enrolment, if you have questions regarding this, please contact exchange-students@hu-berlin.de.

AGNES- personal area
Even if the course catalogue on AGNES is accessible without a password, the most important actions can only be performed there if you have a HU-Account. With such a log in you will be able among other things to request a TAN-letter (needed to register for exams), to request a campus card (needed as official student ID).
HU-Email Address
With a HU-Account log in you will be able to activate and access your HU-Email Address which will usually end in @student.hu-berlin.de or @hu-berlin.de. All official communications especially from the examination office will be sent to you to this address. Please note that the we as international office on the other hand start communicating with you before matriculation so that we usually use the email address you provided upon applying.

Moodle Platform
You might already be familiar with this tool as it is well widespread among universities. For almost each lecture the teaching person creates a course on moodle where didactic material and learning aids are accessible. Moreover, updates about the specific course (change in schedule, illnesses etc.) might be published there. While you will get the password for the specific course on its first day by the teaching person, the whole platform can only be accessed with HU-Account login.
