Short-Bio

Alona Zharova is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Chair of Information Systems since 2018. In 2018 she received her Ph.D. in Statistics from the Ladislaus von Bortkiewicz Chair of Statistics, HU. In her dissertation "Measures of University Research Output", Alona focused on statistical analyses of resource use and scientific performance on the levels of individuals, research groups, and universities. Before that, she received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Odessa I.I. Mechnikov National University and worked as a Research Associate there. From 2014 to 2018, she managed a Collaborative Research Center (CRC) and an International Research Training Group (IRTG) at the HU, both funded by the DFG. Besides, she was coordinating the application for a CRC "Digital Economy and Decision Analytics" to the DFG (unsuccessful) and the application for a prolongation of the IRTG (successful) to the DFG. Alona is passionate about mitigating climate change with smart building technology and directs her research into this area.
